More effective geometry measurements of products with the use of 3D coordinate measuring machine

The new ROMER Absolute Arm 3D coordinate measuring machine enables faster geometry measuring within the automotive industry.

In some cases the time needed for a geometry measurement procedure can be reduced from 1 day to only 2 hours.

The introduction of the 3D measuring device has created a new position in RK Metāls – the quality engineer.

Hexagon ROMER Absolute Arm 3D coordinate measuring machine was purchased in cooperation with the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIDA) and the support of Norway Grants (a Norvegian financial instrument).

Norwegian Financial Instrument ‘Green Industry Innovation’ programme

The implementation of the ‘Green Industry Innovation’ programme is conducted by its operators, the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, as well as by the partner representing the donor country — a state company of the Kingdom of Norway, Innovation Norway.

‘Green Industry Innovation’ is one of the 8 programmes implemented in Latvia as part of the support offered by the Norway Grants Norwegian financial mechanism for the years 2009—2014. Its goal is to create a Green Technology Incubator that will offer its services for the development, growth and commercialisation of innovative, technology-intensive and scientific ‘green’ ideas.
